Vatican Museums
The Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms, and the Gallery of Maps — all in one visit. Book skip-the-line tickets and go on a Friday evening when the museums stay open late.

Borgo Pio
5 min from the museums. Charming pedestrian street with colourful shutters, local shops, and zero tourist tat. The back door into the real Prati neighbourhood.

Passaguai
10 min walk down Via Cola di Rienzo. Sleek aperitivo bar with excellent spritzes and creative cocktails. The aperitivo buffet is generous — a Roman tradition done right.

Romeo Chef & Baker
5 min walk. Modern Roman dining by Cristina Bowerman. Upscale pizzas, creative pastas, and a beautiful bakery section. Sleek design, serious food.
Comments
Romeo Chef & Baker truffle pizza was worth the splurge. The whole Prati neighbourhood felt way less hectic than Centro Storico
Vatican Museums skip-the-line tickets are essential, don't even think about going without them. Friday evening slots are only April-Oct btw
Early weekday mornings work well too, we went at 8am on a Wednesday

🤫Secret Tips
- •Vatican Museums are open Friday evenings (7pm–11pm) from April to October. It's the best time to visit.
- •Skip the restaurants immediately around St Peter's Square — they're overpriced tourist traps.
- •Borgo Pio is one of the few streets in the Vatican area that still feels authentically Roman.
