Pantheon to Piazza Navona
Start at the Pantheon — still free to enter — and wind through the narrow streets to Piazza Navona. Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers is spectacular, especially when lit at night.

Salotto 42
8 min walk from Piazza Navona. Sophisticated cocktail lounge facing the Temple of Hadrian. Design books, low lighting, and expertly mixed drinks. Perfect for a pre-dinner aperitivo.

Armando al Pantheon
5 min walk. Family-run since 1961. Classic Roman dishes done with reverence — the amatriciana and abbacchio are outstanding. Book well ahead, this is no secret.

Giolitti
3 min walk. Rome's most storied gelateria, serving since 1900. The crema giolitti is their signature, but the pistachio and dark chocolate are just as legendary.

Armando al Pantheon amatriciana was incredible but book at least 5 days out, we almost couldn't get in
Solid date, the Pantheon-to-Navona walk at night is really something. Salotto 42 cocktails were strong too 😄
Their negroni is dangerously good, can confirm
First-time visitors who want iconic Rome with great food

🤫Secret Tips
- •Visit the Pantheon first thing — it opens at 9am and is free. The oculus light beam is best around noon.
- •Armando al Pantheon is closed Saturdays at dinner and all day Sunday.
- •Skip the gelato shops with mountains of brightly coloured gelato — Giolitti keeps theirs in metal tins for a reason.
