Tate Modern
Explore world-class contemporary art for free. The Turbine Hall installations are always a talking point. Check what's on in the paid exhibitions too.

Thames South Bank Walk
Step outside Tate Modern and head east. Stroll along the river towards Borough Market. Street performers, bookstalls under Waterloo Bridge, and stunning views of St Paul's.

Borough Market
10 min walk along the river. London's oldest food market. Share plates from different stalls — try the raclette, the scotch eggs from Ginger Pig, and fresh oysters.
Comments
Borough Market raclette was the highlight, we went back twice in one visit
Go on a weekday if you can, Tate Modern was so peaceful. The bookstalls under Waterloo Bridge are a cute bonus stop.
Weekday morning is the move, barely anyone there before 11am.
