Hortus Botanicus
One of the world's oldest botanical gardens (1638). Tropical greenhouses, butterfly garden, and a peaceful café. A hidden oasis in the middle of the city.

Entrepotdok
8 min walk. Beautiful canal-side street lined with converted 19th-century warehouses. One of Amsterdam's most photogenic and least crowded walks.

Brouwerij 't IJ
10 min walk. Amsterdam's iconic independent brewery beneath the De Gooyer windmill. Try the Zatte or IJwit on their always-buzzing terrace.

De Kas
10 min walk or short tram. Farm-to-table dining in a stunning municipal greenhouse. The daily-changing menu uses ingredients grown in the garden outside. Book well ahead.
Comments
Hortus Botanicus butterfly greenhouse alone is worth the visit, so peaceful compared to the rest of the city 🦋
Book De Kas at least two weeks out, we tried walk-in and got turned away.
Lunch is slightly easier to get than dinner and the greenhouse light is better too.
